Discount Buildings, Clearance Buildings, Overstock Buildings, Liquidation Buildings, Cheap Buildings!
Wow…This is where they are! Start shopping. Everyone in the building business has a building clearance, discount or a building on sale. This is where it pays to do your homework. It’s time to start doing some comparison shopping.
Where do you start? Do you look for a direct manufacture? Your local builder? Clearance Center? A dealer? A contractor? It can get confusing. Number One Rule: Before you make your first call or send that first email, make a list of companies that you might consider doing business with and then check them out, and I mean really check them out…Check out their BBB rating, do a Google search for complaints, read independent blogs with comments. And when you do choose a company, make them give you customers to call. I would call at least a dozen and see how they like their building, would they buy again? Don’t be afraid to ask questions.
Choosing a company will depend on your project. If you’re doing a wood structure you may want to stay local, or block and use a local contractor. A local contractor should be easy to check out and being local has cost saving advantages. If you’re looking for that DIY kit, than you will be totally shopping price, materials only. Don’t make the mistake of comparing apples to oranges . This is where it can get confusing! Always compare materials to materials and labor to labor. Don’t compare a building kit dropped on the ground to a turn key ready to walk in building. Break it down, price it both ways. How much is material cost? How much am I paying for labor? Don’t forget the accessories, insulation, windows, doors, gutters, vents, skylights, and the shipping cost!!
